“When I arrived at this antique shop in Georgia one winter afternoon, I found this red rocking chair with its ‘Freedom is Not Free’ cushion, surrounded by dusty relics in the shop’s doorway. I took some photos of it, trying out different angles. Then I moved it around the yard, looking for the frame that made sense to me, but the cold blue light ruined every composition. Back at the cabin, still frustrated at not getting the photo, this image appeared in my mind with all its details. So I returned the next morning and found the exact spot to set up my tripod.”
